Chocolate and champagne business?
I'm thinking of starting a chocolate and champagne fountain business, and was looking some advice. When i was reading up on the chocolate fountain it was saying that the best way to melt the chocolate was in a micowave, so do i buy a micowave and have it beside me when i'm working and also it also said that there was a risk the chocolate could burn, how do i make sure this doesn't happen (i don't want to mess up someones day)
Where is the best place to buy my fountains at. Any advice would be great, thanks
The best thing to do is interview other business owners in the same industry. Watch them set up the fountains.
Good luck with your enterprise!

Dont ask us — youre the business person! You should be the expert on it. Or you should make yourself knowledgeable by experience.

you can't start a business like that unless you can give people the option of having small, medium, large and extra huge chocolate fountains…so you'll have to buy them probably from a company specialising in hospitality-wares people who sell to restaurants etc.
i don't think microwaves are the safest bet..i would know i stuffed up a volunteer catering thing cause i used a microwave…i had to run and find more chocolate and a stove…
you are best melting chocolate slowly so it doesn't burn and that usually means in a bowl over simmering water…remember once its burnt it can't be saved. but if you are confident with a microwave (it has worked for me in the past, so i won't say it doesn't) then do that
but i was always under the impression that the people who hire those things out, give the people the fountain, the chocolate and a couple different things to dip it in like marshmallows and banana lollies
people then will look after it themselves and provide the other stuff to dip in it: like fruit, etc
however, that wouldn't be a bad idea…you would technically be a "chocolate fountain caterer" where they say we have "30 people coming" you decide on which size fountain how much chocolate and then bring with you all of the dipping stuff and they pay you a set price per person…obviously you would have packages where you just provide the chocolate or where you provide lollies but not fresh fruit etc.
sorry it probably doesn't make much sense, i was typing as i was thinking…

Hi. NO, you would not have a microwave right next to you.
You would need to figure out how much chocolate you need and melt it yourself before the wedding and transport it to the site. Do research on this.
You will also need to purchase different size fountains. Use Google to research them.
Look into how feasible and lucrative this would be as a business. There are lots of things to consider. You need a business license, etc.
